  • Repasa las formas verbales en presente continuo.
  • Usos del presente continuo:
    1. En acciones que se están realizando ahora o últimamente, en contraste con las acciones habituales o permanentes del presente simple. Suelen ir acompañados de expresiones tales como: now, at the moment, lately, today.
    2. En acciones futuras que ya se han planeado y preparado. Llevan una expresión de futuro.

El sufijo -ing se añade al verbo principal sin modificar éste, salvo cuando el verbo termine en -e; en este caso, se suprime esta vocal. Por ejemplo:
  • Work -> working; play -> playing; study -> studying
  • Prepare -> Preparing
Los tiempos continuos no se pueden utilizar con verbos que no indican actividad. Puede ocurrir que un verbo se emplee en varios sentidos, y en alguno de ellos no se pueda usar el tiempo continuo. Por ejmplo:
  • I think it is very interesting -> think = opinar
  • I am thinking about going to England -> think = pensar (actividad)
